Principal's Message

Welcome to New Horizons High School!

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! My name is Becky Hitchman, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of New Horizons High School.

I have been privileged to work in education for the past 27 years as a special education teacher, education specialist, assistant director of special services, and assistant principal. It is a privilege to serve the New Horizons community, where our vision is to Reignite the Flames of Hope and our mission is to inspire growth in a supportive, personalized environment where every student can thrive, build positive relationships, and achieve success in college, careers, and beyond.

We believe that hope, belonging, and positive relationships are the foundation of success, and our dedicated staff is committed to meeting each student where they are by providing personalized academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary support.

Through rigorous, relevant, and flexible learning experiences, students have multiple pathways to demonstrate mastery of academic standards and earn credits toward graduation—whether they are learning in person or virtually.

Together, our staff partners with students and families to remove barriers, celebrate growth, and empower every student to reach their fullest potential.
